More often than not divorce will put you at odds with a person who knows you well enough to push your buttons. Your spouse knows exactly what upsets you-whether it is forgetting the children's schedule or overspending or ruining your favorite holiday. The anxiety and strain attendant with the process can make communicating more challenging.
In Florida, the legal term for a divorce is “dissolution of marriage.” The two simple requirements to dissolve a marriage are: 1) one party must be a Florida resident for more than six months prior to filing and 2) one party must allege under oath that the marriage irretrievably broken. Each divorce encompasses a different set of circumstances.

When parents with minor children divorce, the court is required to enter an order  including a parenting plan with a timeshare schedule among other things. In the years that follow, it is likely that at least one of the parents will plan to move out of the geographic area.
We receive many questions about the age when a child may testify in court. During a divorce proceeding- especially contentious ones- where the parenting plan is in dispute, the children wind up squarely in the middle.
Emotions may run high between partners or spouses during or in the aftermath of a divorce. The temptation to lash out at one another using Facebook or Twitter should be avoided. Unfortunately, statistics demonstrate that incidents of cyberstalking are on the increase nationwide.
