On December 18, 2025, the Florida Supreme Court issued its updated uniform statewide bond schedule. The effective date for the new bond schedule is January 1, 2026. This new schedule standardizes pre-hearing release amounts across all 20 judicial circuits in Florida to ensure consistency, regardless of geography. The bond schedule applies specifically when the police or jail staff exercise discretion, as allowed per Florida law, to release a person before their first or initial appearance hearing.
Judges at first appearance hearings retain the authority to set different amounts or conditions based on individual cases. Also, chief judges of a circuit may establish local bond schedules that increase bond amounts above the statewide minimum, without prior approval from the Florida Supreme Court.
The new bond schedule below is as follows:
- For persons arrested for a crime listed in § 903.011(6), Fla. Stat., 1st appearance required, or who meet the criteria in § 903.011(6), Fla. Stat., or a person arrested for a crime designated as a dangerous crime in § 907.041(5)(a), Fla. Stat., or an unauthorized alien arrested for a forcible felony.
Bond: None - For persons not covered by number 1., arrested for a third degree felony that involves any amount of force or threat of force against a person.
Bond: $5,000 - For persons not covered by number 1., arrested for a third degree felony that does not involve any force or threat of force against a person.
Bond: $2,500 - For persons not covered by number 1., arrested for a first degree misdemeanor or an ordinance punishable like a first degree misdemeanor, that involves any amount of force or threat of force against a person.
Bond: $1,000 - For persons not covered by number 1., arrested for a first degree misdemeanor or an ordinance punishable like a first degree misdemeanor, that does not involve any force or threat of force against a person and that is not driving under the influence or boating under the influence.
Bond: $500 - For persons not covered by number 1., arrested for a second degree misdemeanor or an ordinance punishable like a second degree misdemeanor, that involves any amount of force or threat of force against a person.
Bond: $250 - For persons not covered by number 1., arrested for a second-degree misdemeanor or an ordinance punishable like a second degree misdemeanor, that does not involve force or threat of force against a person and that is not driving under the influence or boating under the influence.
Bond: $150 - For persons not covered by numbers 1. or 3., arrested for driving under the influence or boating under the influence.
- First degree misdemeanor.
Bond: $1,000 - Second offense, second degree misdemeanor.
Bond: $750 - First offense, second degree misdemeanor.
Bond: $500
- First degree misdemeanor.
